This CME program is an interactive multimedia
presentation designed to enhance skills in the diagnosis and
management of sinusitis. The program provides sophisticated information
about pathophysiology diagnositic difficulties, pharmacology,
microbiology and current methods for predicting outcome.
Educational
Objectives:
- Identify key aspects of the history and
exam in sinusitis patients that indicate the need for antimicrobials.
- Apply current pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic principals
to antibiotic selection in sinusitis.
- Recognize subtypes
of acute and chronic sinusitis.
- Determine
the differences between viral and bacterial rhinosinusitis.
Program Description:
The sinusitis workshop is designed to incorporate
case study, interactive learning and video to better understand,
diagnose and manage sinusitis. The program provides
sophisticated information about pathophysiology, diagnostic
difficulties, pharmacology, microbiology and current methods for
predicting outcome and centers upon the principles of
evidence-based medicine. Areas covered throughout the
program are:

of acute bacterial sinusitis

of antibiotic therapy
